Site Information

The MAP Tax Credits site provides tax credit issuance data for projects undertaken by businesses, individuals and non-profit organizations. Utilizing this site, you may:

  • Search and view tax credit information beginning with application year 2000.
  • Browse tax credits by tax credit category and drill down to obtain information about issuances for each tax credit program within a category.
  • Drill down into each tax credit program to obtain information about issuances to specific tax credit customers and specific projects.
  • Search tax credit issuances by customer name or by legislative district.

Public Information

While all of the information contained on this site is an open record in accordance with the Missouri Sunshine Law (Ch. 610, RSMo), there may be additional public records available regarding this data. Additional records can be obtained by making a Sunshine request to the appropriate records custodian(s) in the agency that possesses the documents in accordance with the law.

All tax credit information published on this site is for tax credits administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Information for tax credits administered by other state agencies is available through those specific agencies.

Any information that is a closed record pursuant to the Missouri Sunshine Law or other applicable state or federal law or regulation will not be published on this site. However, every effort has been made to report all relevant data where possible.

Site Availability

This site will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week except during necessary site maintenance. The information published will contain current financial transactions and will be based on the information available at the time.

Updating Tax Credit Records

All information is based on the tax credits application year cycle, which varies with each program.  Information for all tax credit programs is subject to change on a daily basis and will be updated at the close of each business day.

Site Glossary

  • Year Application Approved - Application years vary by program and are based on statutory or policy guidelines. Depending on the program, the application year may be the year in which an application is approved, the year in which tax credit certificates are issued, or both.
  • Customer - The term Customer refers to the entity and/or individual responsible for the project for which the State issued the tax credit.
  • Legislative District - The term Legislative District refers to the assigned Senate and Representative district of the location or mailing address for the business entity and/or individual the State issued the tax credit.
  • Program - A financial incentive authorized in statute and offered to eligible applicants in the form of a tax credit which may be redeemed against state taxes owed.
  • Project - A statutorily eligible activity for which a tax credit is issued. Program statutes offer eligible activities from which projects are defined. Project names may reflect a year different than the application year. In some instances, tax credits are applied for and issued based on project tasks completed over prior years. The project name may reflect the date of the project tasks, rather than the application year.
  • Tax Credit Category - The term Tax Credit Category is used to describe tax credits based on 135.800 RSMo. Examples of some of the Categories used on this site include Agriculture, Community Development, Housing, and Redevelopment.

The Tax Credit Category page displays total tax credits issued for the application year displayed in the Year Application Approved selection box. To view more specific information about the tax credits issued for a category, click on the category description.

To view this information for a different application year, select the year from the Year Application Approved selection box and click the GO button. Click on any column heading to sort the data. Multiple clicks on a column heading toggle the sort order from ascending to descending. When using a web browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer, please utilize the drop down selection boxes located at the bottom of the page to change the sort order of the data.


Programs for a Tax Credit Category

The Programs for a Tax Credit Category page displays summarized tax credits issued by program type for the Category description selected on the Category page for the application year displayed in the Year Application Approved selection box. To view more specific information about the tax credits issued for a program type for the selected category, click on the program name.

To view this level of detail information for the same Category for a different application year, select the year from the Year Application Approved selection box and click the GO button. Click on any column heading to sort the data. Multiple clicks on a column heading toggle the sort order from ascending to descending. The Program Details page displays summarized tax credits issued by customer and project name for the program selected on the Programs for a Tax Credit Category page for the application year displayed in the Year Application Approved selection box.

To view this level of detail information for the same program and category detail for a different application year, select the year from the Year Application Approved selection box and click the GO button. Legislative District

The Legislative District page is the starting point for viewing tax credits issued within a specific Senate or Representative district for a selected application year. Select the District Type for the legislative type you wish to find, select an application year from the selection box and click GO.  To view more specific information about programs in a legislative district, click on a district number.

To view more specific information about the tax credits for a program type for the selected category, click on the program name.

The Search by Customer page is the starting point for viewing tax credits issued summarized by customer name.  Select an application year from the Year Application Approved selection box, enter all or part of the customer name you wish to find in the Customer Name entry box and click the GO button.

To view more specific information about the tax credits issued for a customer, click on the customer name.


Customer Search Results

Site Information - Site Disclaimer - Glossary

The Customer Search Results page displays customers matching the search criteria entered in the customer search area of the Search by Customer page. Only customers for whom tax credits have been issued are included in the results. Click on a customer to see a list of tax credit issuances summarized by program name for the application year displayed in the Year Application Approved selection box. If the desired customer is not included in the listing, you may change your search criteria and/or select a different application year and click on the GO button to begin another search.

To view more specific information about the tax credit issuances for a program type for the particular customer, click on the customer name.

Customer Programs

The Customer Programs page displays summarized tax credit issuances by program for the customer selected on the Customer Search Results page for the application year displayed in the Year Application Approved selection box.  To view more specific information about the tax credit issuances for a program type for the selected customer, click on the program name.
